We all partied with the consistent club hits of Rihanna, Ke$ha especially with their respective latest hits "S&M" and "Blow". With no doubt, they both had chart topping dance hits but it's always good to know that these party girls can drop down the party and sing heart-breaking ballads. Rihanna already proved that with "Unfaithful," "Russian Roulette," and "Take a Bow" but it was my first time hearing Ke$ha with such vulnerablility.
Rihanna's crushing song is entitled "California King Bed". It paints an image of two lovers on their last night together. The song mourns on what used to be a very blissful relationship. Everything about the song breaks my heart. Rihanna's voice. The lyrics. The melody. All of it is just sad. Anyway, it will be Rihanna's next single, as voted by her fans via Twitter. It was filmed back on March. I just don't know when the music video is going to be released so for now here's Ri-Ri performing live at American Idol Season 10.
Just like Rihanna, Ke$ha's "The Harold Song" is also about a previous relationship. It was said to be about Ke$ha's fiancee Harold who died from a car accident. If it is true, that would make the song more lonely than it already is. The saddest words for me from the whole song is "I would give it all to not be sleeping alone." I don't know if the glitter monster will release this one as a single but it would be greatly received if she does.
